About The Band
Illicit Thoughts is a metalcore band based out of Salt Lake City, Utah that was originally formed in 2016 by Dallon Relph (Vocalist) and Eli Potter (Lead Guitar/Vocals).
The Name Illicit Thoughts derives from the mental health battles they have undergone in their lives and that this music is their way to express their "Illicit thoughts" to the world.
In 2020, Michael Dennis joined the band as the bassist and would later be moved up to rhythm guitarist in 2022. In 2023, The band would be accompanied by Dalton Jolley on the Drums.
The Band has released two EPs and a few singles since their career started back in 2019. Their first EP is self-titled as "Illicit Thoughts" (2020), and their second EP titled "My Coffin" (2022) both consisting of six tracks. Originally, The "My Coffin" EP was planned to be a full length album but the band decided to wager on the idea of splitting the album into two separate chapters with the second being "My Coffin Pt. 2 - "Sanctum of Isolation"". The band has released two singles so far off of the "Sanctum of Isolation" EP with their most recent release being "My Epitaph".
With every step we take on our paths, and every story we share through our music, we want to paint the portrait of our Illicit Thoughts for those who struggle to see the light in the darkness.
- "Illicit is the only path we walk"
